Did you know that how you waking up has a huge impact on the rest of your day?  Let’s take a look at what you tell yourself everyday in your normal wake up routine.  We’ve all been both people here but it’s interesting to see how the small actions you take when you wake from slumber can have a drastic impact on your day.

How do you wake up?

Are you a snooze button slammer?

  • Did you know when you hit that snooze button you are basically telling yourself that you don’t really want to do life today.  I know that sounds harsh but it’s the truth.  That subconscious message starts your day in a negative state.
  • When you snooze and actually fall back asleep you are restarting a sleep cycle that you won’t actually finish.  When you do this you can feel tired and groggy all day long. 
  • The 5 minutes of extra sleep isn’t really doing your mind or body any good and you are basically just saying to yourself I’d like to delay my life today.
  • Did you know that oversleeping can have a negative impact on you and in some cases even cause depression?

Or Are you a wake up warrior?

  • If you hear that alarm, wake up and get out of bed within 5 seconds I’d consider you a wake up warrior.  You are excited about your day and ready to get after it.
  • The sleepiness of waking up wares off within about 5 minutes and then you are refreshed and ready to go.
  • The subconscious message you are sending yourself is positive and your day will go in a drastically different direction.

I personally started following the S.A.V.E.R.S routine when I wake up in the morning. It was a complete game changer for me.  I wake up at 4:30am which seemed crazy when I started doing it.  My normal wake up time was 5:30am.  When I would wake up at 5:30am I would immediately start doing leftover dishes folding the laundry, etc..  My wife, Laura, who’s a super start takes on other chores and organizes the kids lunches and schedules for the day.

Bottom line is that we woke up and just started grinding out the day.  There is no “YOU TIME” in that routine.  So about 2 weeks ago I tried the S.A.V.E.R.S routine and have loved it ever since.  By the time Laura walks down stairs at 5:30am I’ve had an amazing morning of peace, clarity, personal development, exercise, wisdom and more!  You really have to try it out but if you are anything like me and are seeking a little peace and tranquility in the hustle and bustle of life as a parent these days the MIRACLE MORNING can have a huge impact on you!
